Increasingly, there are a large number of worship songs that are very difficult for a church to perform on a technical level. These songs may even be more difficult for people in the congregation to sing along with on any given Sunday. Without squashing the talent and creativity of those gifted in music, pastors and worship leaders must make sure that their flocks can join in with worship and not just spectate worship.
Again, not saying churches should all do the same music or settle for simple musical complexity, but be careful that congregational worship doesn’t turn into a concert.
